Man charged with murder after elderly victim dies in Oldham

According to major media, police were called to an address on Stoneleigh Road in the Springhead area of Oldham at 5:12 PM on March 1. Officers found a man in his 80s at the scene with injuries. The man was taken to hospital and died on March 2.

The victim has been formally identified as Kenneth Turner, 82. A man was initially arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. Dwaine Turner, 35, of Stoneleigh Road, Oldham, has been charged with murder.

Dwaine Turner is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court on March 5. The specific circumstances or motive leading to the incident have not been disclosed. The relationship between Dwaine Turner and Kenneth Turner is also unclear.

Detective Chief Inspector Louise Edwards, of the Major Incident Team, stated, 'Our priority is understanding the full circumstances which led to this tragic incident and getting justice for the victim.
