A 24-year-old man has been charged at Umeå District Court for rape of a child. He is also suspected of exploitation of a child for sexual posing and child pornography offenses. According to the charges, the man allegedly had intercourse with a 14-year-old person on four occasions over a few days at the end of January.
One of the occasions was allegedly filmed, which forms the basis for the suspicion of child pornography offenses. The prosecutor argues the man committed the crimes despite knowing, or at least being negligent about, the person being under 15 years old. Sexual acts with children under 15 are generally crimes and often classified as rape of a child.
The suspect denies the crimes.
