A man has been arrested after entering the enclosure of the Thai celebrity hippo Moo Deng. The incident occurred at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, Thailand. According to reports, the man entered the enclosure when no animal keepers were present.

Surveillance camera footage reportedly shows him approaching Moo Deng and her mother Jona in an attempt to film and take pictures with his tablet. He reportedly stayed there for one or two minutes before being discovered by staff. The zoo states that both Moo Deng and her mother appeared slightly frightened by the incident and are now being closely monitored by a veterinarian.

The perpetrator has been released on bail but remains under investigation. Moo Deng, a pygmy hippopotamus, has become an internet celebrity due to her cute appearance. When she turned one year old last year, it was celebrated with a four-day festival at the zoo.
