Bokvärlden, Malmö's oldest bookshop located at Fridhemstorget, is set to change ownership after this summer, according to a report from Aftonbladet. The current owners will close the shop on July 25, with the bookstore scheduled to reopen in September under new management following a summer break. The new owners reportedly plan to broaden the book selection, including more children's and youth books, poetry, and non-fiction.
Despite the changes, the new management intends to continue hosting author talks and book circles at the historic bookstore. The ownership transition represents a significant change for the long-standing Malmö institution, which has served as the city's oldest bookshop.
