Malmö FF may sign left-back amid injury concerns

Key Points
  • Gabriel Busanello's availability for Malmö FF's next match is uncertain.
  • Midfielder Theodor Lundbergh may play left-back if Busanello is unavailable.
  • Malmö FF's coach and chairman are reportedly considering signing a new left-back.

Gabriel Busanello started as left-back in Malmö FF's first cup match against Varbergs BoIS. However, it is uncertain if the Brazilian will play in the upcoming match against IF Karlstad Fotboll, and there is reportedly a shortage of dedicated replacements. If Busanello does not play, midfielder Theodor Lundbergh may play left-back, as he has done previously in the Europa League and in the academy, according to Malmö FF's head coach Miguel Ángel Ramírez.

Ramírez also said it is possible that Malmö FF will add a full-back. Anders Pålsson, who is leaving his role as chairman of Malmö FF in early March, reportedly opened up to more new signings before the transfer window closes. Malmö FF finished sixth in Allsvenskan last year.
