Luleå municipality is seeking local musicians to perform at Stadsparken's stage during the popular event Sommarmusiken, according to official sources. This year's edition will have 19 performance slots, as usual during lunchtime from 12:00 to 13:00. Musicians and artists of all ages and from all genres are warmly welcome to apply, said Jessica Hedberg, project leader for Luleå municipality.
Sommarmusiken starts on June 8 and the last performance takes place on July 3, official sources confirmed. The interest registration is open until April 26. After April 26, a selection will be made to create a good music mix that Luleå residents and visitors can experience this summer, according to official sources.
At each occasion there are different performances and they usually aim for as broad a range as possible, Hedberg noted. To make it easier for everyone to apply, this year's registration is on Luleå municipality's website with no complicated logins or passwords to keep track of, she added. Luleå municipality provides the stage and basic backline with drums as well as guitar and bass amplifiers, official sources said.
The fee is 1000 kronor per person to everyone who participates on stage, Hedberg stated. The specific criteria for selecting musicians and whether additional support beyond the stage and backline will be provided have not been detailed, and it is unclear how many musicians or groups will be chosen for the 19 slots.
