Beaumont, from Hull, was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny in 2011 and won the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards in 2012, reports say. Her Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2014 was nominated for Best Newcomer. Her mother, Gill Adams, is an award-winning playwright who contributed to Emmerdale and Doctors and appeared as a fictionalised version of herself in Meet the Richardsons.

Beaumont is reportedly piloting a travel show with her mother, though it has not yet been picked up. Beaumont was married to comedian Jon Richardson, introduced by Roisin Conaty. Their daughter Elsie was born in 2016 via emergency C-section.

I just find it fascinating that I'm just so sure that with the amount of telly I've done now and how funny my mum is, if we were men, we would be in our second or third series. Now I'm so sure of it... I'm not just being flippant. I'm pretty sure about it... I think there's still just a long way to go.
