Amanda Rincon Jonegård announced the split in an Instagram post, writing: "It's a decision that has not been taken lightly but this is the ending of our marriage. I doubt anyone ends up here due to a single disagreement. God knows the effort that have been put in to make it work." She added: "I followed my heart and fell in love with Sergio, and I will never regret any part of this journey as our marriage gave us our two beautiful sons." The couple met on the Swedish version of Love Is Blind, which aired in 2024, and were one of three couples to marry on the show. They have two children together.
Sergio Rincon has not publicly commented on the split. However, he still has pictures from their wedding day on his Instagram profile. In the reunion episode, Sergio discussed his decision to continue filming after learning he was expecting a child with another woman when Amanda announced they were starting a family.

I'm not sure how I will handle everything both emotionally and practically, but one day at a time. One thing I do know is I'm not alone to the title single mum."
Support from fans and fellow contestants has poured in. US Love Is Blind contestant Bliss Poureetezadi Goytowski commented: "Sending you lots of love, Amanda! Those boys are so lucky to have you as their mummy." One follower wrote: "I am so sorry! You are an incredibly beautiful and strong person. I know you will come out of this stronger and will be the best version of yourself for your boys." Another said: "Amanda, you are great!!!
