After 19 years of service as a parish priest in Bromölla, Sweden, Ralf Thiedemann is preparing for a career transition. According to reports from Kristianstadsbladet, Thiedemann will leave his current position in May to begin a new role as komminister (assistant minister) in Sölvesborg.
Thiedemann has served as kyrkoherde (parish priest) in Bromölla for the past five years, having built his career in the community over nearly two decades. He reportedly described the move as "vemodigt" (melancholy) but expressed anticipation for a "nystart" (new start).
The transition marks a significant change for the Bromölla pastorate, where Thiedemann has been a prominent figure since beginning his ministry when Ivetofta-Gualöv and Näsum were separate parishes. His departure in May will conclude his long tenure in the community as he takes on new responsibilities in the neighboring municipality of Sölvesborg.
