Ljusnarsbergs kommun has decided to demolish the abandoned buildings in Ställdalen, according to local reports. The decision comes after years of deterioration and vandalism at the vacant multi-story buildings. The properties, which include both rental apartments and a hotel, have stood empty and decaying for several years, drawing complaints from local residents about daily deterioration and damage.
The buildings are owned by KiChiSaga AB, a company run by Jonathan Bessou. According to the municipality, the demolition process is expected to be lengthy, with municipal board chair Natalie Hart (S) expressing concerns about difficulties in reaching the property owner with previous decisions, such as fencing off the area. Hart noted that if the municipality were to demolish the buildings and clean up the area itself, it would involve multi-million kronor costs.
