According to multiple reports, Grant attended the gala with her partner and caddie Pontus Samuelsson. She was nominated for her victory in 'The Annika' tournament and won the award. According to Dagens Nyheter, Grant described the evening as "great fun" and more organized than expected.
Grant had to withdraw from her most recent tournament in the USA after one day of play due to endometriosis, she told Dagens Nyheter. She experienced internal bleeding caused by a ruptured cyst on her ovary. According to Dagens Nyheter, Grant said she has not received an official diagnosis of endometriosis, but she has all the symptoms and doctors say it is highly probable. She had symptoms for a long time before this incident. It took two to three days after the cyst rupture before she could get out of bed on her own, she told Dagens Nyheter. The specific tournament she withdrew from and the exact timing of the cyst rupture remain unclear. It is also unknown how long she will be sidelined or if she will compete in the upcoming first major of the year.
Great fun! It was very nicely arranged, a very pleasant evening and much more organized than both Pontus and I had imagined. We rarely go to such things so it's always fun to get something else, when we are home.
It's endometriosis that's been messing things up.
I have just started my journey even though I've had symptoms for quite a long time. It's only now when this happened that I felt that maybe I should take it seriously. I haven't gone and gotten a diagnosis, it can take up to seven years to get it diagnosed.
I have all the symptoms. Even when I've talked to doctors, it's very high probability. I know I have cysts on my ovaries, that's one of the symptoms.
I felt that it hurt a lot, but it didn't escalate. So I held out until the next morning and woke up with the same pain. Then I said we should go get it checked out because it didn't feel optimal.
It became like an internal bleeding. It took two, three days before I could get out of bed myself and I couldn't really walk. It went completely bananas. Really, really painful.
The optimist in me... When I sat still for a while with an IV, I thought, 'Well, I still have three hours to load up with X number of rounds of Tylenol...'
