Professional golfer Linn Grant and her partner and caddie Pontus Samuelsson attended the Sports Gala in Helsingborg on Thursday, April 9, according to reports. Grant was nominated in the 'Performance of the Year' category for her victory in the prestigious tournament 'The Annika' and won the award at the gala, as reported by Dagens Nyheter. Grant described the evening as 'great fun' and 'very nicely arranged,' adding that it was more organized than she and Samuelsson had imagined.
Grant's recent health issues overshadowed her triumph. She had to withdraw from her most recent tournament in the USA after one day of play due to endometriosis, as reported by major media. According to Grant, she experienced internal bleeding caused by a ruptured cyst on her ovary. She told Dagens Nyheter that she felt significant pain but held out until the next morning before seeking medical attention. The cyst rupture led to internal bleeding, and it took two to three days before she could get out of bed on her own. Grant described the pain as 'really, really painful' and said it 'went completely bananas.'
Despite these symptoms, Grant has not received an official diagnosis of endometriosis. According to Dagens Nyheter, she stated that she has all the symptoms and that doctors say it is highly probable. She acknowledged that she has had symptoms for a long time but only recently decided to take them seriously. Grant noted that it can take up to seven years to get a diagnosis. The exact timing of the cyst rupture and the duration of her hospitalization remain unclear, as does the specific treatment she received. Her expected return to competition has not been announced.
