A free promotional coffee jar has reportedly created chaos and hysteria in grocery stores across Sweden, according to SVT Kultur. The limited edition jar was produced through a collaboration between a coffee company and the porcelain manufacturer Rörstrand. Witnesses have described long queues, shouting, and fights as customers rushed to obtain one of the limited number of jars available.
On secondary markets, the jars are already being resold for thousands of kronor. Design history professor Sara Kristoffersson commented on the phenomenon, noting that some experts predicted the jars would become collector's items. Kristoffersson explained in an interview whether the jars will be highly valued in the future.
