Jamila Haddoum, a 44-year-old social worker who is tenth on the LFI list led by Florian Kobryn, was assaulted in downtown Strasbourg while with her children aged 15 and 16, Aftonbladet reports. The assailant threatened her with death, saying 'I'm going to slit your throat' and insulted her as 'shitty leftist', 'bitch', and 'whore', according to Florian Kobryn. A complaint has been filed following the incident.
Florian Kobryn condemned what he called 'unacceptable' violence and denounced the deadly climate of hatred and distrust towards La France Insoumise. He called for a republican and antifascist awakening and a calm end to the campaign. Kobryn stated that this assault adds to other incidents targeting the party over the past two weeks, including a forced campaign office lock, glue in the lock, and feces deposited in front of the office.
He lamented that with this assault, it takes a completely different turn. The identity of the perpetrator and whether any arrests have been made remain unknown. The police investigation's current status is also unclear.
