Leo Väisänen, a Finnish defender for BK Häcken, is reportedly nearing a comeback after suffering a serious knee injury. Väisänen joined BK Häcken from MLS club Austin FC last year but injured his ACL just ten minutes into his debut match in the Allsvenskan season opener against Brommapojkarna, effectively ending his season. He has described the long rehabilitation period as both strange and tough, mentally and physically, and now feels like a new signing again.
Väisänen is not yet back in full training but is gradually approaching a return, with a goal to be back for the Allsvenskan if everything goes perfectly. In other news, Djurgården's new signing Leon Hien, 24, reportedly expects to be available for the next weekend.
