According to multiple reports, elevated levels of legionella bacteria have been measured in several buildings at SUS in Malmö. In response, all showers will be equipped with special filters, most recently on Friday. The specific buildings affected and the exact bacteria levels have not been disclosed.
The health risk to patients and staff remains unclear, as does the cause of the contamination. It is also unknown how long the filters will remain in place.
