An avalanche occurred in Kiruna municipality near the national border on Wednesday. m. According to reports from the caller, 10 people were caught in the avalanche.
The avalanche was reportedly 50 meters long. The location is about five kilometers south of Låktatjåkka, between Abisko and the national border. It is unclear what activity the group was engaged in.
Rescue services, ambulances, and mountain rescuers have been alerted and are en route to the site, including by helicopter.
