According to reports from Eskilstuna-Kuriren, the sisters started their venture on Köpmangatan where they remained for the first two years, with Taina being 20 years old and Tina just 18 at the time of opening.

" The closure represents the end of an era for the local business community, as Mattboden was reportedly the last specialized carpet retailer in the city. The sisters' decision to close comes after more than four decades of serving Eskilstuna's residents with flooring products.
