A significant fire broke out in a large storage tent in an industrial area of Södertälje during the early hours of April 3, 2026. According to fire service reports, the alarm was received around 3:30 AM, and when firefighters arrived, they found a tent approximately 200-250 square meters in size fully engulfed in flames.
Daniel Kaissidis, the officer in charge of the rescue service, stated that the tent contained waste, plastic, and other materials. 'It has largely burned down,' Kaissidis reported, noting that while the fire continued to burn, its intensity had decreased significantly from earlier in the night.

Three fire stations responded to the incident, working to prevent the blaze from spreading to surrounding buildings. Their efforts were successful, and by 6:00 AM, two of the stations had left the scene, with the third expected to complete operations by 7:00 AM.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the fire. Images from the scene showed high flames and thick smoke during the height of the incident, but the fire service managed to contain the blaze to the storage tent area.
