Kungsbacka municipality has given the green light for plans to construct flood protection barriers against rising sea levels, according to a report from SVT Halland. The decision came as part of the approval of new comprehensive plans for the city. The project, which could cost up to one billion SEK, aims to protect Kungsbacka from elevated water levels.
" The question of building barriers against the sea to protect the city is not new, having been discussed as early as 2020, but had not been pursued until now. The exact timeline for implementation and financing details remain to be determined.
