According to officials, Kulturparken will be the first of several green spaces in the future Kopparlunden, part of efforts to develop the district into a vibrant area where history and future meet. The project will begin in May 2026 with infrastructure work on Trefasgatan and Sintervägen, including cobblestone restoration, new lighting, and preparation for underfloor heating. Mälarenergi has already replaced water and sewage pipes in the area during the winter.
Construction will be staged, with potential noise and access disruptions, but signage and rerouting will be provided. Visitors and businesses will still be able to reach their entrances, though accessibility may vary. At least one entrance to Culturen will remain open at all times.
It is very fun that we are now starting to build Kopparlunden's first park. In Kulturparken, we are creating a meeting place in the area's cultural-historical core. We want those who visit, live, and work in the area to benefit from this place.
Work on the area where Casa del Fuego has its outdoor seating is planned to start after September 15. Katarina Berg, city project manager, said: "It is very fun that we are now starting to build Kopparlunden's first park.
