The controversial ADHD clinic Psykiatrispecialisterna has filed for bankruptcy, according to reports from SVT Östergötland. The clinic's financial collapse comes after the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) ordered its closure at the end of February due to serious patient safety concerns.
In a statement on their website, the company expressed that they were forced to file for bankruptcy "with sorrow in our hearts." The clinic had previously warned that they would not survive financially following the shutdown order and had appealed to the Administrative Court for a rapid investigation.

According to the report, the company itself requested bankruptcy, stating in their application to the district court that they no longer have the ability to pay their debts. Linköping District Court has now decided to place the company into bankruptcy.
IVO's decision to close the clinic was based on their assessment that there was a clear and serious risk to patients' health, safety, and lives. The clinic had faced significant criticism prior to the shutdown order.
SVT reports that they are seeking comment from David Grönte, the company's owner, as well as the lawyer appointed as bankruptcy administrator.
