Imam Moustafa Alsayed, 51, of the Al Nour Mosque in Kristianstad, Sweden, has been reported making inflammatory statements accusing Jews of practicing magic and calling for revenge against enemies. According to reports from Expressen and Kristianstadsbladet, the imam told a congregation of about 100 people at the mosque that "those who practice magic the most today are Jews" and claimed to have evidence for this allegation. In his sermons, which were filmed and posted on YouTube, Alsayed reportedly spoke of giving enemies "blood, death and expulsion" and emphasized that hatred must be taught to future generations.
He stated that Muslims have a duty to hate non-Muslims and that revenge is better than anger. The imam defended his statements by saying he does not advocate violence outside the framework of international law and does not criticize all Jews. Experts quoted in the reports described the statements as clearly anti-Semitic and potentially inciting violence.
