Sweden's Public Employment Service, Arbetsförmedlingen, has compiled statistics showing approximately 53,000 summer jobs currently available through their platform, with correctional officer positions emerging as the most in-demand sector. According to analyst Kerstin Eriksson, job seekers should apply early and be persistent. 'Get out there in good time, you have to keep at it,' Eriksson advised.
The statistics, which cover job postings up to January, reveal a similar pattern to last year where healthcare and social care account for half of all available positions. Three out of four summer jobs require only high school education, with some positions requiring additional experience. Retail jobs have also seen a significant increase, which analysts suggest may indicate economic recovery after a tougher period.

Eriksson noted that summer jobs aren't just for students, but also provide opportunities for unemployed individuals to enter the labor market. 'It's a good chance to get into the job market,' she said. The healthcare sector continues to dominate summer employment, with strong future demand expected for many healthcare professions.
