The indictment, filed in Ångermanland district court, charges the man with eight rapes, four attempted rapes, and gross procuring. According to the indictment, the procuring lasted from August 2022 to October 2025, involving at least 300 occasions. The man created sex ads, booked clients, planned sexual acts, and drove the woman to and from sex buyers.

The woman was in a physical and psychological underdog position, and the man exploited a drug dependency to push her boundaries, the indictment states. The man filmed the woman with multiple cameras and monitored her movements. The indictment also details threats to kill her, cut off her fingers, insert broken glass bottles into her genitals, and burn her with gasoline.

The man told her the monster inside him would be released if she made him angry. The woman contacted police by fleeing and calling 112. According to TV4 Nyheterna, the woman's legal counsel described the indictment as reflecting serious and gross criminality and said the woman hopes for redress.

The investigation used mobile phone extractions, traced Swish payments, sex films, and booking registers. The main suspect has been detained since autumn on probable cause for gross procuring. The trial is expected to be held shortly after the indictment, though the Ångermanland district court is experiencing high pressure due to simultaneous major cases.

The preliminary investigation is not yet publicly available despite the trial starting. Separately, 26 men have been charged with about 40 sex purchases related to the case; some have confessed, others deny. Four of the charged sex buyers are from Jämtland County.

In a separate case in Godley, Texas, a prostitution ring allegedly involving police officers and officials has led to multiple arrests. Ashley Ketcherside was arrested on a racketeering charge in Johnson County, Texas, and her husband Michael Ketcherside was arrested earlier in connection with the alleged scheme. According to prosecutors, the ring catered to local police officers and charged $1,000 per session.

Law enforcement uncovered evidence of an ongoing prostitution conspiracy spanning five years during a search of the Ketchersides' home on March 31. Evidence suggests the Godley Police Department, under then-Chief Matthew Cantrell, conspired with the couple to gather information on private citizens and public officials they considered adversaries. Named officials include members of the local city council, the former mayor of Godley, the former chief of police, and members of the Godley Independent School Board.

According to a criminal complaint, Cantrell solicited a 'boyfriend' for his wife from the couple. Former officer Solomon Omotoya was accused of soliciting Ashley Ketcherside for sex in exchange for yard work or babysitting. Cantrell was arrested on charges of promoting prostitution and Omotoya was booked on charges of soliciting prostitution.

Michael Ketcherside was arrested on April 2 on a charge of continuous promotion of prostitution and later received an additional racketeering charge on April 14. Court documents indicate that Godley police officers and their spouses spent time at the Ketcherside residence, where Ashley Ketcherside was allegedly preparing another woman for prostitution. Cantrell described Ashley Ketcherside's rate for sex as $1,000 per hour.

Police obtained a list of alleged clients from a burner phone belonging to Ashley Ketcherside at her residence. In an interview, Ashley Ketcherside defended her husband, describing him as a great husband and father and expressing belief in the justice system. In 2023, she was removed from multiple positions within the Godley Independent School District after being convicted of solicitation.

Kayla Lain, a school board trustee, said she was made aware of the convictions by the non-profit group Families Engaged for Effective Education. In the Netherlands, a 22-year-old man identified as Damian A went on trial in Dordrecht for sextortion involving over 50 girls and young women aged 13-20 across at least six countries. Dutch police and prosecutors said the suspect used the online moniker 'Turpien' and ordered victims to write 'Owned by Turpien' on their bodies.

According to investigators, he allegedly sold images of his victims to others. The suspect has confessed, according to prosecutors and his lawyer. A psychiatric assessment found he has autism spectrum disorder and sexual sadism disorder.

He is a great husband and father, and I believe in the justice system.

Prosecutors asked for a nine-year prison sentence and compulsory psychiatric treatment. The suspect is charged with online assault, online rape, extortion, and producing, possessing and distributing child pornography. Police and prosecutors allege the abuse started after the suspect tricked victims into sharing explicit images by pretending to be a woman of their age, then threatened to share the images.

Dutch police launched a social media appeal to trace potential victims, warning many may still be unidentified. According to Daily Mail, Eben Roberts, HSI attache in The Hague, described the case as highlighting the importance of international cooperation. Roberts said the Dutch campaign is aligned with the US Know2Protect campaign against online child exploitation.

In Kista, Stockholm, a 77-year-old man is charged with gross procuring for allegedly flying in about 30 women from the Czech Republic to sell sex over four years. According to the indictment, the man picked up and dropped off the women at Arlanda, handled money, washed sheets, and camera-monitored clients. Police secured sperm traces on floors and mattresses in the Kista house.

The brothel was marketed as erotic massage on an escort site with opening hours, prices, and services. Police inspector Simon Häggström is called to testify about the circumstances of the arrest. According to Aftonbladet, Häggström described a large proportion of Czech women as exploited in brothels marketed as erotic massage.

During the search, police found condoms, sex toys, and cash in the massage rooms. The operation is suspected to have run from September 2019 to October 2024. The 77-year-old man denies the crime and is previously unpunished.

The main hearing is set for January 2027. According to Expressen, Häggström described it as very unusual for a procurer to be so old, and said Czech women are typically found only in erotic massage settings in apartments, houses, or hotels, controlled by organizations based in the Czech Republic. The prosecutor's assessment indicates the 77-year-old acted as a 'security' for the women by camera-monitoring clients.

Evidence in the case includes chat logs, economic analyses, and technical findings from the home. In Växjö, two incidents of sex purchase have been reported with conflicting details. In one, a woman offered sex that was booked via an internet site, and the man paid over 2000 kronor.

The man was not satisfied with the agreement, leading to a dispute and police being called. Robert Loeffel, police press spokesperson, said the woman who sold sex called the police because the man refused to leave the hotel room. The woman was not suspected of any crime and was interviewed as a witness.

The man was arrested but released after questioning. The woman is from another EU country and was temporarily in Sweden with a friend, who was in another hotel room and came to the scene when police arrived. No assault occurred, according to police.

The investigation will be completed and the women are expected to leave the country immediately. In another incident, a middle-aged man contacted a woman on an escort site and agreed to meet at a hotel in Växjö for sex, with a payment of 8000 kronor. When no rooms were available, the man refused to pay and wanted to cycle home to his family.

The woman called the police and said she felt cheated. During the trial, the man claimed he never wanted sex and that it was a dumb thing that got out of hand. The court convicted him of attempted sex purchase and sentenced him to 30 day-fines totaling 9000 kronor.

Rickard Bowin, group chief of police in Växjö, has explained why so few have been convicted. Other cases include a man in Sundsvall suspected of purchasing sexual services. A man from Strängnäs was convicted of buying sex at a hotel in southern Stockholm in October 2025 and fined 9,600 SEK.

He was caught by police immediately after the act and confessed on the spot, stating the price was 1,000 SEK. An opinion piece in Dagens Nyheter discusses broader patterns of men exploiting their partners and references Telegram groups with over 70,000 members where men share tips on drugging women and sell live-streamed rapes. A porn site allowing 'sleeping' women material had 62 million views in February.
