Karlskrona SOK has now completed some of its last snow trainings in Rödeby, marking the end of the winter season. This week, the association celebrates having achieved 90 days with snow, which has led to new records. According to SVT Blekingenytt, Ola Thyvin described the extended snow period as a bonus, noting that they usually aim for two months but got the whole month of March extra.
The association is looking ahead to a new summer initiative: an asphalted multi-track to be built as part of the exercise trails, and a larger hall will also be added, enabling indoor biathlon. The project, costing over eleven million kronor, is largely financed by Arvsfonden. Only a decision from Karlskrona municipality is awaited to put the final pieces in place before the first groundbreaking.
We usually aim to be able to have two months, so we've gotten the whole month of March as a bonus.
According to Per Gjörloff, head of the culture and leisure administration, the matter is in a preparatory stage with the municipality, before a decision is to be made in the municipal board. In total, the municipality is expected to need to contribute just over half a million kronor to the project. According to SVT Blekingenytt, Ola Thyvin expressed hopes that everything will be in place for the next summer season.
We hope that everything will be in place for next summer season.
