The reconstruction of Karlskrona's main entrance road has begun, according to local reports. Commuters traveling to and from Trossö have reportedly started noticing the construction work, and traffic queues are expected to worsen starting this week, particularly for those leaving the city. The new entrance to Karlskrona is not expected to be completed until winter 2028, meaning limited traffic flow is anticipated for those entering and exiting the city until then.
Alexander Kouzmine, head of the street/traffic unit for Karlskrona municipality, stated that the project will impact traffic flow and advised patience and planning. 'There will be an impact on traffic flow. You have to try to have patience and plan accordingly that there will be traffic impact for quite some time,' Kouzmine said.

The municipality has so far only released details about the traffic situation for spring 2026, and exact lane configurations on the entrance road beyond that period remain undetermined. Kouzmine explained that many additional components will be part of the project, with larger works expected ahead based on what the project aims to accomplish.
