The digital follow-up involves patients registering information about their well-being, medication effects, blood pressure, and weight via a digital service. A nurse reviews the responses and communicates them to the responsible doctor, who then decides whether to renew the prescription or take other actions, according to psychiatric nurse Helena Jonasson. In a recent survey, 9 out of 10 patients reported that the digital follow-up made it easier and more convenient to manage their treatment and renew prescriptions.
The clinic reports positive effects including better overview and control of medication follow-ups, smoother communication with patients, and time savings. Department head Lise-Lotte Södervall said the clinic saw a need to digitize due to increasing patient numbers. The clinic is still in a development phase and plans to continue improving the service with patient focus.
The number of patients currently using the service and the specific technology used have not been disclosed.
