  • Her first post-show role is joining the revival of the comedy theatre production Stepping Out.
  • Stepping Out will tour the UK this summer, starting in Eastbourne.

Hauer announced her departure from Strictly in March 2025 after 14 years. According to multiple reports, her first post-show role is the revival of Stepping Out, a comedy by Richard Harris about amateur tap dancers. The production will tour the UK this summer, starting in Eastbourne before heading to Southend, Bromley and Fareham. Hauer will play Mavis, a dance teacher leading a group of amateur tap dancers.

"I'm so pleased to be performing in this brand-new production of Stepping Out," Hauer said in a press release. "It's a play about ordinary people achieving extraordinary things through dance, and in the role of their teacher and mentor, it certainly resonates with me!"

The news comes amid a major shake-up at Strictly Come Dancing, with more professional dancers reportedly leaving the BBC show. Specific tour dates and other cast members have not yet been announced.
