Jörgen Jönsson has reportedly been hired as an assistant coach for Sweden's national hockey team, Tre Kronor, for the upcoming world championships. According to unconfirmed reports, he will serve under head coach Sam Hallam, alongside assistants Anthon Hansson and Stefan Klockare, with another assistant to be appointed. The Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced that Jönsson, 53, will be formally "hired in" from Färjestad, where he remains under contract until 2029 after being fired as coach earlier this year.

The world championships are scheduled to take place in Fribourg, Switzerland.
