Around 70 families have received joint home visits since the start. The method adds a family therapist from social services to BVC's existing home visits. According to Region Gävleborg Nyheter, more parents are choosing to participate in support interventions, such as the parenting education program Trygghetscirkeln.
The method also helps more families find their way to open preschool and other social contexts. Social services have offered to meet parents at activities and accompany them as support. Lena Eriksson, a BVC nurse, said: "We think this is a good way to work.
We think this is a good way to work. It has been received very positively by the families.
" Family therapist Eva Clahr noted: "We complement each other and can identify needs earlier based on our different professions. " The joint visits help build relationships and demystify contact with social services. Early intervention creates better conditions to prevent future problems.
The project is a social investment co-financed by social investment funds from Region Gävleborg. It started in 2024 and runs until December 31, 2026, after which it will be evaluated. It is not yet known what specific criteria will be used for the evaluation or whether the method will be expanded to other municipalities.
We complement each other and can identify needs earlier based on our different professions. This makes it easier to offer the right support at the right time.
We see, among other things, that more people are saying yes to the parenting education Trygghetscirkeln, both in groups and individually. It may be that they first met at home in a safe environment, which lowers the threshold to take the next step.
When we come together, it becomes more natural. The parents get a face and a relationship with us, which makes it easier to contact us later if a need arises.
This is a way to get in early and work preventively. We believe it can make a big difference in the long run.
