John Guidetti, a 33-year-old former footballer, reportedly nearly joined Malmö FF instead of AIK when he moved back to Sweden in the summer of 2022. According to reports, Malmö FF made a better offer than AIK, but Guidetti chose AIK because he wanted to live in Stockholm rather than six hours away. Guidetti, who is now a new expert for TV4 and Sportbladet, also criticized AIK, saying the club should be Sweden's biggest but is not performing as well as it could.
He has not signed with any new club since leaving AIK.
He said Malmö FF made a fantastic offer that was better than AIK's, but he chose AIK because he wanted to live in Stockholm.
Guidetti reportedly felt it would be disappointing to live six hours from Stockholm if he moved to Malmö.
He also criticized AIK, saying the club should be Sweden's biggest and have as many league titles as Malmö, but it is not close to that.
