Johannes Hösflot Kläbo, a Norwegian cross-country skier, has said it is too late for him to switch to a career as a competitive cyclist. Kläbo, who is 29 years old, told SVT Sport that he believes the train has left, and he is too old, adding he would need to be five years younger and have an offer on the table for it to be relevant. He has a collaboration with the Norwegian cycling team Uno-X Mobility and has trained with the team's cyclists.
In summer 2025, the team published a clip where Kläbo said he would first focus on the Olympics, but later might aim to join the team. This week, the cycling site Veloupp followed up and interviewed team manager Thor Hushovd, who said Kläbo has all the possibilities to reach the world elite in cycling because he is a natural talent and with his physical capacity can succeed in any endurance sport. Kläbo is already considered the world's best cross-country skier, having won six Olympic gold medals.
