  • Maja Dahlqvist competes in skiathlon for first time in ten years after sprint final.

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo won the 20 km skiathlon at the World Cup event in Falun, Sweden. He secured his 109th World Cup victory by outmaneuvering his Norwegian teammates Harald Østberg Amundsen and Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget in the final stretch. Klæbo had recently returned from the Olympics, where he won six gold medals, and was uncertain about competing in Falun due to illness symptoms after the 50 km race, but he participated and also won the sprint the previous day.

Among Swedish skiers, Johan Ekberg achieved a personal best with a 15th-place finish, while Eric Rosjö came 17th. Gustaf Berglund initially kept pace with the Norwegian leaders but fell back after breaking a pole and using it for too long before getting a replacement. In the women's events, Maja Dahlqvist competed in the skiathlon for the first time since she was a junior, about ten years ago, after finishing fifth in the sprint final the day before, which was won by Linn Svahn.

Dahlqvist, currently third in the overall World Cup standings, used new skiathlon boots for the race and expressed excitement about the challenge. The women's skiathlon started at 16:05, with Sweden fielding 12 starters including Moa Ilar and Frida Karlsson.
