A man from Jämtland county has been charged with purchasing sexual services in a case connected to an extensive pimping investigation in Ångermanland, according to reports from SVT Jämtlandsnytt. The 30-year-old man is being prosecuted at Ångermanland District Court for buying sex.

According to police investigation documents, the man reportedly made contact with the woman through an online contact advertisement. During interrogation, the man admitted to the crime and stated that in September last year, he booked a meeting with her at her residence in Ångermanland. Messages exchanged between the parties indicate the meeting was arranged for the purpose of purchasing sex, and after the encounter, the man allegedly paid the woman 6,000 kronor via Swish.

The case is reportedly linked to a larger pimping investigation that has been ongoing for some time. The investigation involves multiple men suspected of buying sex who may face charges, with the Jämtland man being one of them. The alleged sex trafficking operation is said to have continued for three and a half years before the woman contacted police.

According to the investigation, the main suspect is alleged to have arranged meetings between the woman and various men for payment over an extended period. The primary suspect, who previously served a prison sentence for other crimes, is currently detained on suspicion of serious pimping. Charges against the main suspect are expected to be filed on March 30.
