The wedding, reported to have cost £250,000, took place at the 17th-century estate owned by John Robinson, founder of Jigsaw. The venue hosts weddings and private parties throughout the year. Wiltshire council imposed strict planning conditions on the site to reduce noise, which Euridge Manor Weddings challenged as 'unreasonable' and 'inconsistent'. The company proposed banning brass instruments, drums, and bagpipes outdoors to mitigate noise. However, the Planning Inspectorate dismissed the appeal and ruled the venue must cease all operations by May 17.
Locals were jubilant after the decision. According to the Daily Mail, one anonymous resident said they have been unable to sleep due to noise from the venue. Another resident described noise from Whitehall's wedding, including whooping, cheering, and amplified speeches. Councillor Mel Jacob, Deputy Leader of Wiltshire Council, supported the decision, stating that residents should not have to endure excessive noise from commercial activities. It remains unclear how many weddings were already booked at the venue or whether the owners will pursue further legal action.
