The group, called 'Mia moglie' (My Wife), featured images of women secretly photographed while sleeping, showering, or changing, often naked or in underwear, accompanied by lewd comments from members. '. In one instance, a man wrote 'Send me pictures of your whores so I can send mine'.

The group first came to public attention in August last year when author Carolina Capria received a tip about it from one of her followers. The woman who tipped Capria had reported the group to the police and Meta, without result. After Capria wrote about the 'My Wife' group, it became big news in Italy and the country's internet police quickly shut it down.

The police initiated a preliminary investigation that has now been taken over by the prosecutor's office in Rome. More than 3,000 women have reported the group's founder and/or their husbands to the police. Italian police have traced the people behind the group: a younger man and a 45-year-old woman.

The identities of the younger man and 45-year-old woman behind the group are not known. The trial is expected later this year. 46-year-old Laura, one of the thousands of women secretly photographed, is looking forward to the trial.
