A woman in the village of Plonna was attacked by a bear. The report came from the woman's son. It took time to reach the woman due to difficult terrain and lack of precise location description. Paramedics declared the woman dead at the scene. Poland has a population of about 100 brown bears, and fatal attacks are extremely rare; the previous one was in 2014.
