Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd (Hial) announced the expected disruption, citing staffing issues without providing further details. A spokesperson said: "Staffing issues at Inverness Airport continue and will necessitate temporary closures over the coming weeks. " The airport, located nine miles east of Inverness city centre, serves around one million passengers annually and hosts carriers including Loganair, TUI, KLM, easyJet and British Airways, with routes to London, Majorca, Belfast and the Outer Hebrides.
Last year, Inverness was named one of the best airports in Europe in the Airport Service Quality Awards, ranking among the top six airports servicing under two million passengers. Newcastle International Airport was the only other UK airport recognised in the awards. The disruption follows similar "unforeseen staffing issues" over the Bank Holiday weekend that affected flights.
The spokesperson added: "We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.
