After six months of waiting, incorrectly placed road signs on road 334 in Kungsgården, Kramfors will finally be moved to their proper locations. The correction comes following a complaint from local resident Kjell Nilsson, who alerted authorities to what he described as a traffic safety hazard.
According to SVT Västernorrland, the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has received a decision from the County Administrative Board (Länsstyrelsen) allowing them to change the signage. The changes will take effect on March 1, according to traffic engineer Lisa Åström at Trafikverket.
I'm happy. Now it will be safer
"I'm happy. Now it will be safer," said Kjell Nilsson, who discovered the problem and raised the alarm. Nilsson first showed the problematic signage to SVT Västernorrland in September last year, describing it as directly dangerous to traffic.
While pleased with the decision, Nilsson expressed frustration that the process took too long. The issue involved overtaking signs that had been placed incorrectly along the road, creating potential safety risks for drivers in the area.
