A 25-year-old man employed at an HVB home in Skåne has been sentenced to one year and three months in prison for sexually abusing a teenager placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) at the facility. According to the district court, the man abused his power position as the victim was in a dependent relationship with him and he was responsible for the teenager's care.

The court found that the man forced the teenager to perform sexual acts against his will on multiple occasions. The abuse was classified as aggravated because the perpetrator threatened to kill or harm the victim and also pressured him to call himself derogatory names. The man allegedly threatened to kill the teenager if he reported the abuse.

The victim, who has several neuropsychiatric disability diagnoses, was placed at the HVB home under LVU provisions. The perpetrator, who worked as an assistant nurse and is a trained social pedagogue, denies the crimes. He is no longer employed at the HVB home.

In addition to the prison sentence, the man has been ordered to pay 130,000 kronor in damages to the victim. The sentence covers one count of aggravated sexual abuse and two counts of sexual abuse.
