Mattias Tedenby has played twelve seasons in HV71's senior team, appearing in over 600 games for the club and winning three Swedish championships, but his contract is now expiring. According to Hockeysverige, Tedenby described HV as meaning a lot to him, having been with the club for a long time and expressing a desire to play there. HV71 has secured its SHL existence for the third time by winning a play-out qualifier, with Tedenby part of all three such qualifiers.

This season, he played 48 games in the regular season and all four qualifier games, contributing to the team's survival. At 36 years old, Tedenby experienced his most injury-free season since returning to HV71, and after the game, HV71 supporters chanted his name. According to Hockeysverige, Tedenby described plans to discuss his future with sports director Johan Hult after taking a break with family, noting that his body feels good but he needs time to recover.

HV means a lot to me, I've been in the club for a long time and you really want to play here.

It remains unknown whether Tedenby will sign a new contract with HV71 or retire, and what decision Hult will make regarding the offer. The timeline for contract negotiations is also unclear, as is whether other clubs are interested if he does not re-sign.

We'll see a bit what happens. I'm going to sit down with Johan Hult, then we'll see what happens. We've said quickly that we'll talk about it, have a chat. But right now I want to let go of hockey for a couple of days and spend time with children and family again, for real. You've been in a bit of a bubble this one and a half weeks that it's been. Nice to get home, hug the kids and wife. Then you have to make the decision with them and with Johan then, what happens.

Well, both yes and no. It's clear that the thoughts come and go, like. But I still feel that the body feels good. I probably need a couple of weeks to recover the body and think about something other than hockey. Then surely the craving will come back, one hundred percent.

It doesn't feel like it, I have to be honest to say. I don't know, it's not impossible. I'm going to talk with Johan first and foremost and then we'll see what decision they take and I also, of course. The best thing there is is to go out in Husqvarna Garden. It's clear that it's high on the list to sign a contract again.

I just feel a gratitude that they have been here and supported us. Jönköping is a hockey-crazy city and deserves all success. That's a bit how you feel, gratitude that
