HV71 has ended its season by winning the qualification series against Leksand, securing its place in the SHL for the upcoming season. The club has now announced that four players with expiring contracts will leave. These players are goaltender Frederik Dichow, defenseman Viggo Gustafsson, and forwards Joona Luoto and Hugo Pettersson.

All four players reportedly already have plans for next season: Dichow is set to join Timrå, Gustafsson belongs to Nashville and will play AHL hockey with Milwaukee, Pettersson will be presented as a new acquisition in Malmö, and Luoto will play in Finland. Among the remaining expiring contracts, HV71 has no further announcements yet. This includes players such as Felix Sandström, Wilhelm Hallquisth, Axel Rindell, Malte Gustafsson, Mattias Tedenby, Isac Brännström, William Ignberg Nilsson, and Hampus Eriksson.

According to reports, Hallquisth is set for Timrå, but the club has not confirmed this due to his ongoing loan with Södertälje SK in Hockeyallsvenskan. The club's acting general manager Johan Hult has been evaluating the squad to determine which players will continue next season.
