A man in Västerbotten has been convicted of breach of trust against principal for embezzling funds from his hunting team while serving as treasurer. According to SVT Västerbotten, the man transferred over 290,000 kronor from the hunting team's two accounts to his personal account.
The hunting team discovered the missing funds, at which point the man had already repaid over 100,000 kronor. He reportedly told investigators that he has a gambling addiction and began using the hunting team's money for gambling when his own funds ran out.

Despite admitting to the crime, the man disputes the exact amount owed. He currently owes the hunting team nearly 170,000 kronor. The court sentenced him to a conditional sentence and day fines. He must repay approximately 170,000 kronor with interest to the hunting team.
