Huddinge Municipality has become one of several Swedish municipalities to adopt the Norwegian Lesersørvis method for literature promotion, according to an official publication from Region Stockholm. The method, which originated in Norway, focuses on literature mediation and provides tools for various aspects of literary work including literary knowledge.
Johanna Nylund, a librarian at Huddinge library, was interviewed about her experiences with the method. She initially approached Lesersørvis with caution after it was introduced by library consultants in Region Stockholm during a meeting. However, after exploring the method further, she became more interested and saw its potential applications.

Nylund participated in a study trip to Oslo where she met with Norwegian librarians who have extensive experience with the Lesersørvis method. She described the method as providing 'a new spark' for literature mediation work, making it a more concrete task rather than just reading through materials. According to Nylund, the method has become an important tool since literature mediation is a central part of reading promotion efforts.
The adoption follows a reading promotion internship organized by Region Stockholm, where one of the sessions focused on collectively exploring the Lesersørvis method. The Norwegian approach appears to be gaining traction among Swedish municipalities seeking innovative ways to promote literature and reading.
