Hitachi Energy's Sweden CEO Tobias Hansson has publicly criticized the Swedish government for not providing the same level of state support that competing countries offer to businesses. According to a report in Svenska Dagbladet, Hansson stated that the company is growing rapidly and needs to attract personnel to Sweden, but without government assistance, Sweden must offer other advantages like world-class welfare. "I don't think they (the government) live up to that," said Hansson.

The Sweden chief is fighting to have production located in Sweden but faces stiff international competition. Hansson highlighted that in countries like Canada, Germany, and France, companies receive free land, financial packages, and state subsidies that help their calculations. "You get that in Germany, you get that in France, you get that in Canada, you don't get that in Sweden," he stated.
