Around 600 liters of hazardous waste, including medical items such as tablets and used syringes, have been found at the Mältan recycling center in Karlskrona, Sweden. The waste has been discovered on two occasions at the Hässelgården recycling station. It is unclear where the waste came from, but it is reported to be medical waste from all of Blekinge, not just Karlskrona.

Personnel have ensured the waste is handled as hazardous, though it should normally be disposed of at pharmacies first. Police have been called to inspect the material but have not taken further action. If it happens again, Affärsverken will report the incidents to the police.
