The Hamilton home assessment team (HAT) provides short-term support for people leaving hospital or recovering from illness, helping them regain everyday skills and confidence at home. According to sources, the Hamilton home assessment team currently supports around 60 people and delivers more than 700 visits per week. The care at home team provides ongoing care for people with longer-term needs, enabling them to stay safe, connected and well in their own communities.
Sources state the care at home team delivers around 7200 visits per week. Service users said they 'would be lost without' the healthcare team members and described them as 'my guardian angels'. The Care Inspectorate highlighted the strength of staff teams, effective communication and the dignity, respect and compassion shown.

According to Councillor Margaret Walker, there is growing demand for care and pressures for individuals waiting for support, families, and staff delivering services.
