The Halmstad municipal council approved four housing-related initiatives at its meeting. The initiatives aim to broaden the housing supply in different parts of the municipality. They include a new LSS residence in Frösakull along Fammarpsvägen to meet growing needs, a security housing facility in the center near Bärnstenen for more central housing for the elderly, direct allocation to HFAB near Äventyrslandet to create more rental apartments in the currently villa-dominated Söndrum area, and a structural plan for the development of Nyhem to make the district greener and broaden the housing supply with a focus on students.
All initiatives were adopted, some after voting.
