Hällefors to Build New Park with Student Input
Key Points
  • Hällefors will start building a new park this autumn with student input.
  • The project aims to provide a needed outdoor space for local youth.
  • Activities are planned for 2027, with details pending student feedback.

In Hällefors, the first stage of a new park in the center, between Folkets Hus and Klockarhagsskolan, will soon start. This autumn, it is planned that the park will begin to be established. The park will be divided into two areas, one near each school.

According to sources, there can be different types of activity areas and places to wait, hang out, and meet before and after the school day. Students will answer questionnaires and participate in student council meetings to provide input. 'All students should get to have their say,' said Marie Karlsson, principal at Klockarhagsskolan.

I think this is a super important project.

' Previously, there was a process where students could request features in the area, but it was never carried out. Now a new attempt is being made. ' Park manager Linnea Hansen says that the municipality is establishing a new meeting place with seating, trees, flower beds – and a stage.

'We want the stage to be able to be used for events and be a place where you can just sit and be,' Hansen said. The part of the park that will mainly contain activities is planned to be established during 2027. The goal is for the park to be used both during school hours and in leisure time by children and young people in Hällefors.

Many children and young people in Hällefors, where more families have lower incomes and often spend summers at home, are in great need of an attractive and rewarding outdoor environment.

The specific activities or features to be included based on student input have not been determined. The exact timeline for the first stage beyond this autumn is also unclear.
